Building Community Through Entrepreneurship and Belonging in Fremont
This week, I had the privilege of meeting with the President of San Francisco Bay University, the Mayor of Fremont, and several community leaders to discuss a topic that’s close to my heart: how entrepreneurship and belonging can help shape the future of our city.
Fremont has long been a hub for innovation, diversity, and economic opportunity. But what struck me most in our conversation is how these same principles align with the mission of BTR TMRW—advancing inclusive postsecondary education for students with intellectual disabilities.
Entrepreneurship is not just about starting businesses. At its best, it’s about creating opportunity, building community, and ensuring that everyone has a seat at the table. For students with intellectual disabilities, that means access to education, career pathways, and the chance to contribute to the community around them.
As I spoke with these leaders, I was reminded that inclusion and innovation are not separate goals—they’re deeply connected. A city thrives when it nurtures all of its people, when it recognizes that belonging is the foundation of progress. Fremont, with its entrepreneurial spirit and diverse population, is uniquely positioned to lead in this area.
At BTR TMRW, our vision is to connect these dots—linking education, entrepreneurship, and community engagement so that students with intellectual disabilities can thrive as future leaders, innovators, and contributors to society.
The conversations this week were just the beginning. The work ahead is about turning vision into reality. And Fremont is the right place to do it.
